After School Clubs

At Alexander McLeod School, we ensure that all our pupils have the opportunity to develop their skills in a range of sports and activities with our exciting and varied after school clubs.  Led by professional coaches and members of staff, the clubs offer children with varied interests the chance to develop their skills in familiar and comfortable surroundings. 

 

All our After School Clubs follow set times:

  • 3:15pm – 4:15pm EYFS / KS1 (Monday to Friday)
  • 3:25pm – 4:25pm KS2 (Monday to Friday)

 

Our key aim with After School Clubs is to provide children with the opportunity to engage in activities that they may not have the opportunity to otherwise.  Therefore we ensure that wide ranges of clubs are on offer, these include Arts and Crafts, Science, Taekwondo, , Outdoor Sports i.e. Basketball, Football, Gymnastic and many more.

Club prices start from £3.00 up to £4.50 per session. We also allocate one club to children in receipt of Pupil Premium at no cost. 

If you are interested in registering your child for any of the after school clubs, please do so via our ReachMoreParents app.

  • To make payment for trips/after school clubs, you will need to click on ’payments’ and follow the instructions on the screen
  • All communication i.e. letters, text and updates will be sent via the app
  • You are able to communicate with the office though it

Our Multi-Sports Club offers a variety of fun, energetic games each week, including Dodgeball, Bench Ball, Handball, and more! This club is all about helping children stay active while building skills that will support them in both sports and life. Through different games, children learn teamwork, build confidence to try new activities, and develop coordination and fitness. Each session offers a fresh way to engage with physical activity, make friends, and grow in a positive, supportive environment. The Multi-Sports Club is a fantastic way for children to stay active, learn, and enjoy a wide range of sports!

The Champions League Football Club provides boys with a fantastic opportunity to develop their football skills through structured training sessions that focus on individual growth and teamwork. The school has entered a local football league, offering regular matches against other schools every fortnight. In addition to league play, we are invited to participate in various tournaments each term, and we organize friendly matches with other schools in the borough. This club is perfect for any young player looking to improve, compete, and enjoy football in a supportive and competitive environment.

The Girls' Football Club offers an excellent opportunity for girls to develop their skills through structured training sessions that focus on individual progress and teamwork. Our school has entered a local football league, providing regular matches against other schools every fortnight. In addition to league matches, the girls are invited to participate in various tournaments each term, and we organize private friendly matches with other schools in the borough. The club is perfect for any young player looking to improve, compete, and enjoy football in a supportive, competitive environment.

The Theatre Box and Drama Class gives children the chance to express themselves through music and performance. Led by an experienced coach with a passion for musical theatre, the sessions encourage children to be creative and free, allowing them to develop new skills in a fun and supportive environment. Each session is designed to be enjoyable and engaging, helping children build confidence, improve their acting and singing abilities, and discover the joy of performing. This club is perfect for children who love to explore the world of drama and musical theatre!

The Indoor Board Game Club is designed like a youth club, offering a variety of fun activities for children to enjoy. From Connect 4 and Loom bands to arts and crafts, table tennis, and more, the club allows children the freedom to choose what they’d like to do. By bringing together both Key Stages, the club fosters interaction between different age groups, helping to build confidence and encouraging the older children to develop leadership skills. This relaxed and fun environment provides a perfect space for children to socialize, be creative, and learn new skills.

The Year 3 and 4 Boys' Football Club provides a fantastic opportunity for children to develop their football skills through structured training sessions. These sessions focus on improving both individual abilities and teamwork. The school organizes private friendly matches with other schools in the borough, giving participants the chance to represent the school and gain valuable match experience. The club aims to build confidence, improve fitness, and encourage sportsmanship, making it a great environment for young footballers to grow and enjoy the game.

Our Gymnastics Club is an exciting and energetic program where participants learn new skills each week, focusing on improvement and progression. With a variety of exercises and techniques, children work on their balance, strength, and flexibility, all in a fun and supportive environment. Each session is designed to keep participants active and engaged as they build their skills week by week. This club offers a fantastic opportunity for students to develop confidence in their abilities, stay fit, and enjoy the fun of gymnastics with friends.

The Paper Craft Club is a creative space where children can explore their artistic talents using a wide variety of crafting materials. Each week, participants engage in projects designed to let them create something unique to take home, with guidance and support from our coaches. This club encourages imagination and hands-on creativity, allowing students to express themselves through paper crafts and develop new skills in a fun and supportive environment. It’s the perfect opportunity for young artists to experiment with materials and techniques, creating something new each session.

The Tennis Club is perfect for children eager to learn or improve their tennis skills. Our coaches guide participants from beginner to advanced levels, ensuring that each child progresses at their own pace. Sessions are designed to be both fun and engaging, helping children develop coordination, agility, and confidence on the court. The club provides a supportive environment for young athletes to enjoy the game of tennis, whether they’re learning the basics or building advanced skills.

The Taekwondo Club is a unique opportunity for children to learn discipline, self-defense, and build confidence through martial arts. Starting at a beginner’s level, participants can progress to advanced levels with dedication and hard work in each session. The coach provides expert guidance and also offers uniforms for purchase, helping students look the part as they train. This club offers a supportive and engaging environment where children can improve their focus, develop resilience, and gain valuable life skills through the practice of Taekwondo.

The Chess Club offers children a calm and focused environment to learn and enjoy the game of chess. Led by an experienced coach, the club welcomes players of all levels, from beginners to advanced, helping each child progress at their own pace. With its relaxed and quiet setting, Chess Club allows participants to concentrate, develop strategic thinking skills, and enjoy friendly games with peers. It’s the perfect space for children to have fun, improve their skills, and build confidence in a supportive environment.

The Cookery Club is a unique and hands-on experience where children learn to make delicious treats like cookies, cakes, pastries, pizzas, and more from scratch. Guided by knowledgeable coaches, each child follows clear instructions and gains confidence in the kitchen. This club allows young chefs to explore their creativity and learn essential cooking skills, with the added joy of taking home what they’ve made each week. It’s a wonderful opportunity for children to gain a sense of achievement and pride in their culinary creations.

The Hockey Club is ideal for children interested in having fun while learning new skills, from beginner to advanced levels. In this enjoyable and energetic club, participants not only develop their hockey skills but also learn essential teamwork and communication skills that are valuable both on and off the field. With a focus on collaboration and sportsmanship, the Hockey Club provides a supportive environment where children can build confidence, connect with teammates, and experience the thrill of the game.

Our Basketball Club is a high-energy program where children learn teamwork, communication, and the fundamentals of basketball. Open to beginners with a pathway to advanced levels, this club introduces players to the rules and techniques of the game in a fun and supportive environment. Each session focuses on building skills, fitness, and confidence, helping young athletes work together and develop their understanding of basketball. It’s an exciting space for children to stay active, connect with friends, and grow both as players and as teammate

Our Ghibli Club invites children to step into the magical world of Studio Ghibli films. This after-school club offers students the opportunity to watch and discuss timeless Ghibli classics, explore the art and themes of these movies, and engage in creative activities inspired by their rich storytelling. Perfect for fostering imagination and appreciation for cinematic art, Ghibli Club is a space for students to enjoy and be inspired.

Meadow Outdoor Sensory Club: A calming and engaging outdoor club where children explore nature through sensory activities designed to stimulate the senses and promote relaxation. Perfect for those who enjoy hands-on experiences with plants, textures, sounds, and more in a peaceful natural setting

Meet the Leader

My name is Mr Bandha and I am the After School Club lead. I am extremely passionate about all sports and strongly believe that children should have the opportunity to access a wide range of extra curricular clubs. The ASC are a great opportunity for children to discover a new sport/skill or to further develop in an area they are already interested in. As well as overseeing the clubs, I also run some clubs over the course of the week. I am always available on the school gate at 4.15 if you wish to discuss any club related matters.
